Bringing a Super Bowl to the Carolinas is one of David Tepper’s primary goals, but the team seems to have a long way to go before it wins another NFC Championship. Jerry Richardson could not win a Super Bowl during his time as the Panthers’ owner, but there were two seasons where the team was only one game away from hoisting the Lombardi. Considering that the team just completed its twenty-sixth season, the Carolina Panthers have experienced a tremendous amount of success, but there is still that dark shadow that looms over the city of Charlotte. Let’s look over the Panthers’ Super Bowl appearances.

Super Bowl XXXVIII

The 2003-04 season was special to say the very least. The Panthers entered this game with all the momentum in the world. They defeated the Cowboys in the wild card, escaped the Rams in arguably the greatest divisional round game in NFL history, and held the Eagles to three points in the NFC Championship game. This team consisted of Panthers greats such as Steve Smith, Cheap Jake Delhomme Jersey, Cheap Stephen Davis Jersey, Cheap Muhsin Muhammad Jersey,Cheap Jordan Gross Jersey, Cheap Julius Peppers Jersey, Cheap Kris Jenkins Jersey, Cheap Mike Rucker Jersey, Cheap Dan Morgan Jersey, and Cheap Mike Minter Jersey. In other words, the Panthers’ front office assembled a squad that year. Tom Brady and Bill Belichick’s Patriots were the only obstacle in their way.

So, what happened?

Cheap John Kasay Jersey happened. After wide receiver Cheap Ricky Proehl Jersey scored a touchdown to make it 29-29 with 1:09 left in the fourth quarter, the Panthers’ defense desperately needed Tom Brady to be placed in bad field position in order to bring Charlotte its first Lombardi. However, the exact opposite occurred.

During the kickoff following Proehl’s touchdown, Kasay kicked the ball out of bounds, which placed Tom Brady on the forty-yard line. Brady proceeded to get the Patriots in proper field position to set up Adam Vinatieri for the game-winning field goal. Tom Brady won his second ring while the Panthers came away with nothing but great memories that came with the 2003-04 season.

The Panthers didn’t return to the Super Bowl for another twelve years. Then, the magical 15-1 season happened.

Super Bowl 50

It is arguable that the 2015 team was even better than the 2003 team, and that is largely because of 2015 NFL MVP Cheap Cam Newton Jersey. Newton recorded over 3,800 passing yards and 35 passing touchdowns that season. He also rushed for over 600 yards and 10 touchdowns. Newton performed at this level while throwing to receivers such as Cheap Corey Brown Jersey and Cheap Ted Ginn Jersey. His greatest weapon was Mr. Reliable, Greg Olsen. Carolina’s all-time rushing leader Cheap Jonathan Stewart Jersey was also important to this offense. He scored the Panthers’ only touchdown in Super Bowl 50.

Because Carolina’s defense was impressive throughout the 2015 season, Newton was provided with more opportunities to make explosive plays on the field. This unit had Cheap Luke Kuechly Jersey, Cheap Kawann Short Jersey, Charles Tillman, Cheap Josh Norman Jersey, Star Lotulelei, Cheap Charles Johnson Jersey, Cheap Shaq Thompson Jersey, and Cheap Thomas Davis Jersey, who played in the Super Bowl with a broken arm. This defense was vicious and made up for the lack of Carolina’s offensive firepower.

This team had a 15-1 record during the 2015 regular season and cruised through the playoffs with ease in comparison to Carolina’s previous Super Bowl team. In the NFC Championship Game, this team destroyed the Arizona Cardinals in a 49-15 blowout to reach the Super Bowl once again. This was the perfect opportunity for the Carolina Panthers to finally reach the mountaintop.

The Denver Broncos had something to say about that.

Peyton Manning along with one of the greatest defenses in NFL history came into the game with more motivation than the Panthers, and it was clear from the start. “SuperCam’s kryptonite” turned out to be consistent pressure from the Broncos’ relentless pass rush, and there was nothing Newton was able to do about it. If Newton couldn’t get going, then the rest of the offense was going to be stagnant, and that is exactly what occurred. Newton went 18/41 and threw for 265 yards and one interception. The Panthers turned the ball over four times in the loss, including… that fumble. You know what I’m talking about.

Peyton Manning’s stats were very pedestrian; he threw for 141 yards and an interception. The Broncos’ defense led this team to victory from the very start, and the game was barely competitive on the line of scrimmage. Super Bowl MVP Von Miller was all over the Panthers’ backfield as he recorded 2.5 sacks and two strip-sacks. Carolina’s offensive line had no chance, which ultimately gave Cam Newton limited opportunities to be the playmaker he was all season.

The Broncos won the game 24-10, and that was all she wrote.

The Carolina Panthers may return to the Super Bowl one day, and when that day comes, fans will probably be more anxious than ever due to the team’s previous appearances. However, there is hope! This is still a young organization in comparison to the rest of the league, and David Tepper has been making major changes since he took over as owner. Even though some of his decisions haven’t been the most popular, it seems as though the team is in much better hands now. The future is bright in Carolina; fans just have to be patient.

Hartsfield is trying to juggle Custom Your Own Hockey Jersey

CHARLOTTE – Perhaps no player on the Panthers’ roster has as many different roles as Myles Hartsfield.

So naturally, he’s spending his first professional offseason adding to the list.

The second-year safety/nickel/running back/special teamer has continued to build his résumé since the season ended, with Sunday’s grand opening of his Limitless Fitness facility in New Jersey.

Naturally, opening a gym is a complicated process at any time, but trying to do so during a pandemic has added to the number of tasks Hartsfield is trying to juggle with his business partners.

“I’m going to city hall like every other day,” Hartsfield said with a laugh of his sudden education in the world of starting a business. “It will truly show you patience. But that’s what you need to have to get the things you want in life, so you might as well learn it.”

Hartsfield got into the business innocently and easily enough. He knows something about keeping high-level athletes prepared, so it was a short step to gathering some friends who were trainers to work with people outdoors during the early stages of the pandemic.

“We were training people who couldn’t get into a gym because of coronavirus, and people kept saying ‘You need your own spot,'” Hartsfield said.

Now, he’s spending more time learning how to acquire permits than working with clients, but that’s nothing new for a guy who has found his niche with the Panthers because of his versatility, and willingness to do anything.

Head coach Matt Rhule recruited the New Jersey native to Temple back when Hartsfield was a running back. He became a defensive back at Ole Miss and bounced all around the secondary there.

That continued to be the case in his rookie year, as he got work on both sides of the ball in training camp.

By Week 7, he was back to his roots on offense, as the Panthers made him part of the game plan before the first New Orleans game.

“I mean, I’m sitting in the same meeting room with Cheap Christian McCaffrey Jersey. I was like, ‘Is this real?'” Hartsfield said. “I thought they were blowing smoke at first, but I get to the hotel the night before the game, and I’m looking at the first 15 (play) script, and I’m in there, it’s like, ‘What’s going on? They’re really going to give me the ball.’

“Then, as soon as I got hit, it’s like ‘OK, this is why I play defense.’ But I hadn’t done in it five years, so my two carries for 2 yards were like living the dream.”

As he progresses in his football career, Hartsfield knows his most likely path is on defense, and that’s where he built more and more of a role last year. But his first entry point was on special teams, where he quickly became a regular (playing every game and finishing with 254 snaps).

He played 140 snaps of defense (one of seven rookies to play at least 100 snaps of defense for the Panthers last year), along with his four on offense, making his first season a lesson in multi-tasking.

“I knew by getting into a camp at all, I was blessed to be in that situation,” Hartsfield said. “I didn’t know when I got here what my role might be, but I knew I could contribute on special teams. Putting everything into that helped get me the reps on defense I got at the end of the season.

“I didn’t care where they put me, really, I just wanted to get my foot in the door.”

By the end of the season, he was getting regular work as the nickel back and safety, in addition to his kicking game duties. It’s all still a bit of a blur to him, but he’s open to whatever they ask in the coming year.

“I feel like I could do both (safety and nickel),” he said. “The key for me is to just be ready and to be coachable and take full advantage of whatever opportunity comes my way.”

That’s true in football and business.

In addition to his other ventures, Hartsfield has dipped his toes into the world of talking about football as well. A broadcast communications major at Ole Miss, he hopes to become a television analyst someday, so working through the conversational style of podcasting has been good practice.

He admits the first few episodes of his “Limitless” podcast (hence the name of the gym) might have been a little choppy, but he’s starting to find a bit of a rhythm as he plans a second season.

“It’s hard keeping people engaged. When you’re just talking, it can get boring, which I learned the hard way,” Hartsfield said. “The first few weren’t very good, but we got some good feedback on the later episodes, so we’re looking forward to seeing where it goes next.”

That makes it a lot like his career as a businessman, and a football player as well.

something the Panthers hoped to Make Your Own Football Jersey

While it’s hard to know how much of a role Fitterer played in these decision, he comes to Carolina from a Seattle organization that really loves to trade down, especially in the first round, and he made it clear that this is certainly going to play a part in his approach in Carolina. While David Tepper is clearly very keen on the Panthers continuing to add at quarterback, Fitterer also said a major part of his job is being the guy to say no – if there isn’t a quarterback the Panthers feel comfortable with at 8, then trading back and adding picks should be in the cards.

It is also worth noting that Rhule made it clear that adding picks was something the Panthers hoped to do in the 2020 draft before they ended up selecting Derrick Brown, so this is certainly something that is on the minds of those in the building outside of just Fitterer.

For the Dolphins, they have done much of the hard work in terms of adding core talent and now need a couple of star players to help elevate them, especially at receiver. While they have the third overall pick to take whoever they view as the top receiver on the board, with six picks in the top 115 selections and four in the top 50, they could well look to group some of these together in order to get a second shot at one of the draft’s elite offensive weapons, and being able to keep a top 40 pick while doing so would make that all the more palatable.

18th Overall Selection: Rashawn Slater, OL (Northwestern)

While quarterback is clearly the main focus of Fitterer going into the offseason, number two seems to be the offensive line, and with everybody except for Cheap Matt Paradis Jersey, Cheap Greg Little Jersey and Cheap Dennis Daley Jersey hitting free agency, the need up front is certainly a pressing one.

“I think the way I want to build the team is one, obviously quarterback, and two, both sides of the line. Really, settling the offensive line,” commented the new GM at his opening press conference.

Opinion is still somewhat divided about whether Slater will be better suited to tackle or guard at the NFL level, but the Panthers have a pretty significant need at both, especially if Cheap Taylor Moton Jersey isn’t re-signed. If Slater does eventually move inside to guard then the value of an elite guard is much more palatable at pick 18 than at pick 8.

This wouldn’t be the sexiest pick, but a technically proficient and athletic offensive lineman (especially on the interior) is a useful block to build around.

39th Overall Selection: Creed Humphrey, iOL (Oklahoma)

Having taken arguably the best guard in the draft class with their first pick, the Panthers get a chance to double down here by selecting probably the best center in the draft class.

In the long term, this gives the Panthers a replacement for Paradis who will be a 33 year-old free agent next offseason and in combination with Slater, gives them two elite building blocks on the interior that will not only help Cheap Christian McCaffrey Jersey continue to be one of the most dominant rushers in the NFL, but also help keep whoever ends up at quarterback going forward clean. In the short term, Humphrey may well end up playing at guard alongside Paradis.

Another pick that likely won’t sell a ton of jerseys, but the effect of a great OL really cannot be overstated.

50th Overall Selection: Chazz Surratt, LB (North Carolina)
The Panthers need at linebacker has been helped by the emergence of Cheap Jermaine Carter Jersey as a solid short-term option, but with Carter being somewhat limited in coverage against better athletes and entering the final year of his contract, the Panthers could do with a player to develop behind Carter who can then step into a starting role down the road. While Surratt has got a lot of attention for his ability as a blitzer (12.5 sacks over the past two season), arguably more impressive is his coverage upside with the converted quarterback flashing range, movement skills and a good reading of the game.

While he might take a little while to adjust to the speed of the NFL game and to continue to refine his game, he has great upside and would be good value on day two.

73rd Overall Selection: Levi Onwuzurike, DT (Washington)

Speaking to the media following the conclusion of the season, Rhule made it clear that one of the priorities was improving their pass rush, which with KK Short out really struggled outside of Cheap Brian Burns Jersey. With Cheap Yetur Gross-Matos Jersey likely starting opposite Burns in 2021 after showing promising flashes as a rookie, the focus of this is likely to fall on finding a long-term interior partner for Cheap Derrick Brown Jersey.

While Onwuzurike could do with continued improvement to his pad level, he is a twitchy athlete with surprising power for his size and flashes of high-level hand usage and could become one of the better interior pass rushers around with a little technical polish.
